This Pandora radio website is a music streaming website that provides the service of playing musical selections of a certain genre based on the artist's selection of users.
I believe this website has qualities of obvious design that agree with the book "Designing the Obvious".
When you enter the website for the first time, it shows very simple search engine on the whole window.
It conforms to the way users interact with the web, and focuses on the activity of searching music.
It has a clear purpose of providing the music service.
This website does not have too many features, but just few useful ones, such as play or next song button, register, sign in, lyrics, publish, and so on.
This website plays the music at the same time users search the artist.
Lastly, this website reduces clutter to a minimum.
These are reasons why I think Pandora.com has an obvious design.
Great job linking how search engines work with how Pandora built their main-search landing page. The designers took advantage of the users 'mental model' - how users perceive things to work. You can use this to your advantage in many designs. :)
